Alfred and Margaret Stafford's Children Albert Henderson Stafford 1902-1978

When Little Boys Wore Dresses

This is Margaret and Alfred's first born, whose paternal grandparents were John and Mary Stafford nee Henderson.

What a beautiful golden haired little boy. It is not surprising that Margaret and Alfred decided to take him to have a studio photograph taken. Such a well behaved little boy, intently looking at what the photographer is doing. Obviously a toddler as look at his little shiny polished leather boots.

Here is Albert as a young man circa 1920.  What a handsome young man this beautiful baby turned into.

Albert was my uncle, he was kind, very gentle and patient with us little girls, like his brother Norman (my dad), he had two daughters, so when my sister and I used to go and visit, he was over-run with (little) women.  Albert worked for the Co-op (CWS), eventually becoming an undertaker. A lovely man.

This studio photograph may remind you of the portrait photograph taken of his father Alfred, as it was taken at the same studio of Edward G Brewis Newcastle upon Tyne.
